Abstract: A handbook for health educators provides information and methods for systematic evaluation of physical fitness and exercise programs. The 7 key sections of the handbook describe and illustrate fundamental considerations for health for health education program evaluations; 4 different categories for the application of evaluation measurement methods; practical applications of the evaluation methods; the types of physical fitness program outcomes on which the handbook is based; new evaluation methods developed specifically for physical fitness and exercise programs; existing evaluation methods; and the rules and test specifications used to create the newly-developed specific evaluation methods. An annotated evaluation bibliography and a list of the numerous evaluation methods presented in the handbook are appended. (wz).
