Safe ingestion of aspartame during pregnancy
1990
Carroll, P.
Aspartame more commonly known as Nutrasweet, is one of the latest artificial sweeteners made available to consumers. There are many controversies about its safe ingestion. Among those controversies is the potential teratogenic side effects, if Nutrasweet is consumed in excess, on the growing fetus. Its relatively safe ingestion by the public, including children and pregnant women, is less questionable than other artificial sweeteners available today.
