Chemical Composition of the Leaves Essential Oil from Cinnamomum glanduliferum (Wall) Meissn from Uttarakhand, India

The essential oil of Cinnamomum glanduliferum (Wall) Meissn. Family Lauraceae was analyzed by Gas chromatography-Mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Eighteen compounds were identified, which represent 97.56 % of total oil. The oil was characterized by a high proportion of oxygenated monoterpenes (55.40 %) among which 1,8-cineole (41.42 %) and α-terpineol (9.40 %), were the predominant compounds. The monoterpene hydrocarbons (35.36 %) represented the second major fraction of the oil followed by the oxygenated sesquiterpenes (6.32 %).
