1989
Scientists are studying genetic influences on health and disease. They hope to eventually use genetic science to predict and therefore prevent chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, hypertension, alcoholism and obesity. The role of genetic influences of nutrient thresholds is discussed. Nutrient thresholds are defined as the minimal requirements and maximal tolerances of essential nutrients.
