Biology and consumption capacity of Cryptolaemus montrouzieri Mulsant on Maconellicoccus hirsutus (Green)

The growth and development of Cryptolaemus montrouzieri was found to be favourable when grown on second instar nymphs of M. hirsutus as compared to its egg or first instar nymphs of M. hirsutus. The consumption rate of grubs and beetles of C. montrouzieri was in the order of egg > first instar nymphs > second instar nymphs of M. hirsutus.
