Patterns of nutrition concerns and dietary constraints among adult women
1984
Herrmann, Robert O. | Warland, Rex H. | Feick, Lawrence F.
The results of a US-wide, 10-question dietary survey are reported, in which 967 women were grouped into 6 categories on the basis of similarities in nutrition concerns and dietary constraints. The personal characteristics of each category were examined. The results indicate that food-related concerns and constraints vary in frequency and occur in different combinations among adult women. Four areas that appeared to be important were nutrition-related concerns; constraints due to weight control problems; money constraints; and time pressure constraints. All 4 affect food choices and individual receptivity to dietary information. (wz)
