Federal regulation and consumer nutrition
1977
Roberts, Howard R.
A cursory look at some responsibilities of the Food and Drug Administration is provided by the Acting Director of the Bureau of Foods, FDA. Some preliminary summary findings from an examination of consumer knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and behavior with regard to nutrition labeling are reported. The surveys do not show an increase in consumer knowledge about nutrition between December 1973 and August 1975. A majority of shoppers felt they understood the nutrition labels except for the sodium information.
