(+)-Nyasol from Asparagus cochinchinensis

Bio-directed fractionation of the tubers of Asparagus cochinchinensis yielded the nova compound, (+)-nyasol. The structure and stereochemistry of (+)-nyasol was determined from two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy. It is proposed that the previously isolated natural product hinokiresinol is identical to nyasol.
