This paper describes a four month study undertaken during 1990, the aim of which was to determine the effects of a test substance on semen quality and viability, in Hereford bulls. It describes the measures taken to prepare for the housing and management of such potentially dangerous animals, in knowledge of the fact that animals of this type had not previously been handled at HRC.
