Agriculture planning should include not only generating production responses that meet economic goals, but also the review of nutrition consequences of agriculture policies and programs. Nutritional review is indispensable for accurate calculation of costs and benefits of policy alternatives addressed to other goals and then becomes an important tool for program planning in agriculture. Improved nutrition can result only from proper redistribution of the nutrient supply.
