Toxicity of cholecalciferol pelleted baits to the field rodents Microtus guentheri and Meriones tristrami
1996
Moran, S.
The toxicity of cholecalciferol pelleted bait was tested in two species of field rodents: Microtus guentheri and Meriones tristrami. The test animals were offered successive doses of 0.125% cholecalciferol pelleted bait. In M. tristrami, the LD50 was 16.5 mg a.i. kg-1 body weight, with confidence limits 14.65-18.84 mg kg-1. Complete mortality was achieved with 0.6-1.2 g bait per individual. In contrast, the bait was poorly eaten by M. guentheri, so mortality was no more than 30-80%.
