Comparative study between IPM module and non IPM (farmer's practice) for the control of sorghum shoot pests in kharif season

In 4-year experiment effectiveness of IPM module against sorghum shoot pests was compared conventional practices of pest control (non IPM). The results revealed that, IPM module i.e. sorghum with seed treatment of thiamethoxam 70 WS @ 3 g/kg followed by one spray of NSKE 5% at 35 days after emergence (DAE) of the crop, were effective in reducing the incidence of shoot fly, stem borer and shoot bug and also gave higher grain and fodder yield than conventional practices of pest control i.e. one spray of chemical insecticide at 10 DAE.
