The facts of nutrition education

Findings of the Texas School Food Service Association's analysis of the problems and challenges facing nutrition education are reported. Nutrition education seminars were held to integrate the efforts of school administrators, teachers, community leaders, parents, school food service personnel, and nutrition professionals for the health and education of Texas school children. Administrators should make sure their food service staff knows as much as possible about nutrition, teachers should utilize community resources in teaching nutrition and help build sound nutrition concepts, and parents should provide nutritional guidance at home.
