Site specific nutritional survey of Nagpur mandarin orchards of Jhalawar district in Rajasthan

Studies were conducted on the mineral nutrition status of Nagpur mandarin orchards in Jhalawar district during December, 2008 to June, 2009. From the survey of the orchard it appeared that the Electrical conductivity of the soil is in normal range. The organic carbon contents and available nitrogen content were found between low to optimum, whereas, phosphorous and potassium between optimum to high range. The available iron and copper content were found low to optimum whereas available manganese and zinc in optimum to excess range. There was wide variation in the calcium carbonate percentage at different soil depths. Number of fruits per plant showed highly significant and positive correlations with estimated yield per plant (r =0.783**) and estimated yield per hectare (r =0.474*). It indicates a wide gap between actual and estimated yield which implies that there is ascope of yield improvement follwing proper fertilizer applications.
