SynopsisThe amount and height of crop residue influenced the effectiveness of tillage sequences to conserve residue on the soil surface. Tillage sequences produced no noticeable effect on soil cloddiness at the end of season. Better weed control was obtained with tillage sequences including one one-way disking. Tillage sequences seem to influence wheat yields more in dry years than wet years.
