Two prenylated flavanones from stem bark of Erythrina burttii

From the stem bark of Erthrina burttii, two new flavanones were isolated and characterised as 5,7-dihydroxy-4'-methoxy-3',5'-di-(3-methylbut-2-enyl) flavanone (trivial name, abyssinone V-4'-methyl ether) and 5,7-dihydroxy-4'-methoxy-3'-(3-hydroxy-3-methylbut- 1-enyl)-5'-(3-methylbut-2-enyl)flavanone (trivial name, burttinone). In addition, seven known compounds were identified. Structures were determined on the basis of spectroscopic evidence.
