A new species of Chapalania (Acari: Mesostigmata: Laelapidae) from Peru

A new species of the previously monotypic genus Chapalania Hoffmann & Lopez-Campos is described based on female specimens collected from the body of an unidentified passalid beetle from Panguana, Peru. The genus is redefined in consideration of this new species.
