How to maintain employee discipline

Causes of disciplinary problems can be divided into three categories: the employee, the supervisor, and the organization. Specific reasons for problems arising in each category are pinpointed. A checklist which is designed to serve as a guide for those concerned with the determination and administration of discipline is presented. After preliminary steps have been taken, the supervisor should locate the employee responsible for the undesirable behavior or action. Rules for applying constructive disciplinary measures are listed.
