Assessment of runoff and suspended sediment yield in a partially forested catchment in southern Chile
1990
A 12-month study of runoff and suspended sediment yield was undertaken in a 0.93 km2 catchment in southern Chile. Rainfall and total runoff for the period December 1983-November 1984 were estimated at 2170 and 1150 mm, respectively, representing a runoff coefficient of 0.53. Suspended sediment concentrations ranged between 14 and 186 mg L-1, with an average of 71 mg L-1. Suspended sediment yield was estimated at 84 t or 90 t km-2 yr-1.
