The Nutrient Dietary Data Analysis (NDDA) System offers computer analysis of the nutrient content of food intakes (as reported by clients) without an on-site computer. Dietary information obtained by interview (24-hour recall, or 3-day, weekly or monthly food records) is recorded on a special form which is mailed to the NDDA Laboratory; the nutrient analysis printout is returned to the client within 30 days. The system utilizes a computerized nutrient data bank at Ohio State University. Nutrient or food frequency analysis (the percentage of meals in which a certain food is eaten) can be calculated for individual meals, for daily intakes or for longer periods. Nutrient intakes can be compared to RDAs. Data summaries are also available for evaluation of special diets, nutrition intervention programs or for group comparisons, e.g., WIC participants. (nm)
