This epidemiological case-control study was designed to determine if lack of breast feeding and presence of formula feeding is linked to the development of ulcerative colitis in later childhood. It was determined from this investigation that lack of breast feeding (defined as any provision of human milk) is not a risk factor of childhood ulcerative colitis.
