Effect of irrigation on six years old Bluetta blueberry plants
2002
Holzapfel, E.A. | Hepp, R.F.
The effect of different levels of water application under microjet and trickle irrigation on the vegetative growth and fruit production of six years old Bluetta blueberry plants was evaluated. The results show that with microjet and drip irrigation, vegetative growth as well as fruit production of Bluetta blueberries increase with increasing levels of water application. An excess of water in the soil, however, restricts vegetative growth of plants. Higher fruit production and berry size were obtained with microjet irrigation, but the soluble solid contents of fruit was greater with trickle irrigation.
