The cationic dicarbonyl complexes [Rh(CO)₂(R₂PCH₂)₃CRʹ]PF₆ (R = C₆H₅; Rʹ = CH₃, -CH₂PR₂), formed by high pressure synthesis from RhCl₃(H₂O)₃, CO and (R₂PCH₂)₃CRʹ react with liquid ammonia at 20 °C to give the carbamoyl complexes Rh(CO)(CONH₂)(R₂PCH₂)₃CRʹ. At 100 °C in liquid ammonia the carbamoyl-carbonyl complexes Rh(CO)(CONH₂)(R₂PCH₂)₃CRʹ form the CO-bridged, dinuclear compounds (μ-CO)₂[Rh(R₂PCH₂)₃CRʹ]₂. Upon treatment of Rh(CO)(CONH₂)(R₂PCH₂)₃CRʹ with CH₃OH the carbomethoxo carbonyl complexes Rh(CO)(COOCH₃)(R₂PCH₂)₃CRʹ are obtained. The new compounds were characterised, as far as possible, by their IR, Raman and ³¹P NMR spectra.
