Since it appeared that a higher proportion of college nutrition course failures occurred in the first year than in the second year, a pilot study was undertaken to assess the effect of pre-service nutrition study by trainee teachers on nutrition awareness in school children they later teach. The results of the study are discussed. The results included the finding that no correlation occurred between nutritional studies and eating behavior. Other aspects of the study are briefly identified and discussed. (wz)
