Potential economic incentive for adopting hail suppression in the eastern Corn Belt
1977
Sonka, S.T. | Potter, C.W.
The potential economic incentive for an individual cash grain farmer in the eastern Corn Belt to adopt hail suppression is evaluated. changes in average income and in the variability of income are considered; also, the effects of variations in growing season rainfall. results indicate that benefits from reducing crop damage due to hail are relatively minor in this area. if coupled with increases in growing season rainfall, however, the economic incentives become more substantial.
