Many managers feel inadequate about their skills in conducting job interviews. It is important for the manager to remember that an interview is actually a social situation which takes place in a business setting. It is a time when both the applicant and interviewer familiarize themselves with each other. The applicant also picks up vital information regarding the atmosphere of the work environment. The interviewer should be prepared for the interview by defining his goals for the firm before the interview and by listening to what the applicant does and does NOT say. After the interview, the interviewer should review his notes while they are still fresh in his mind.(lsp)
