Methyl chanofruticosinates from leaves of Kopsia arborea

Four indole alkaloids all possessing the rare methyl chanofruticosinate skeletal system have been isolated from the leaves of Kopsia arborea, viz. methyl 11,12-methylenedioxychanofruticosinate, methyl N1-decarbomethoxychanofruticosinate, methyl 11,12-methylenedioxy-N1-decarbomethoxychanofruticosinate and methyl 11,12-methylenedioxy-N1-decarbomethoxy-delta(14,15)-chanofr uticosinate. The last two are new alkaloids.
