Sex differences in the effects of malnutrition on mental development: a review and some hypotheses
1984
Engle, P.L. | Levin, R.J.
A technical review examines 18 studies of the effect of nutritional deprivation/intervention on mental development between boys and girls. The results developed in these studies indicate that nutritional intervention enhances physical growth for boys than for girls, while nutritional deprivation affects mental development in girls more than in boys. Possible explanations for these findings are discussed.
