Hematological and Biochemical Parameters of the Invasive Amphibian Species Pelophylax ridibundus (Amphibia, Anura) Introduced into Water Objects of the Middle Urals

The results of studies into the hematological and biochemical parameters of homeostasis of the lake frog P. ridibundus (Pallas, 1771), which have formed stable populations in the reservoirs of the Middle Urals, are presented for the first time. The lymphocyte and granulocytic composition of peripheral blood leukograms is characterized by the prevalence of agranulocytes (73.3–77.1%); the portion of granulocytes was 23.0–26.7%. The value of the integral leukocyte index (0.29–0.36) corresponds to the conditional norm of the physiological state of the organism and its adaptive potential. In spring, the integral leukocyte index is higher in males (0.36) than in females (0.29). The qualitative composition of the amino acid spectrum of blood plasma in amphibians is represented by 25 amino acids and their derivates. Lake frogs are characterized by a high content of metabolic groups in the peripheral blood: essential and glycogenic amino acids involved in the processes of detoxification, immunomodulation, and the formation of adaptive responses in amphibians.
