Iridoid diglycoside monoacyl esters from stems of premna japonica

From a methanol extract of stems of Premna japonica, three new monoacyl 6-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosylcatalpols were isolated. They were determined to be the 2"-O-, 3"-O- and 4"-O-feruloyl esters of 6-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosylcatalpol. Along with these compounds, two phenethyl alcohol glycosides, acteoside and martynoside, aucubin and O-alpha-L-(2"-O-p-methoxycinnamoyl)rhamnopyranosylcatalpol were also isolated.
