Two papers presented at a 1986 USDA conference argue the need for further studies to assess and quantify dietary information concerning the US elderly. The first paper addressed various factors influencing the quality of elderly diets; the second paper compared income trends between the young and the elderly and discussed the effect of changes in the economy and future income prospects.(mjs)
