The response of the plasma B-6 vitamers to a single, oral pyridoxine supplement

The changes in plasma B-6 (PN) vitamer levels are examined in timed blood collections from 9 female subjects after oral administration of 10 mg of pyridoxine in bolus form. The observed data allowed for the calculation of pharmacokinetic parameters of PN supplementation. The elimination of plasma pyridoxine 5-phosphate appears to be mono-exponential compared to bi-exponential plasma pyridoxal elimination.
