Speakers at the First International Seafood Conference, held in Monaco, November 12 to 15, 1978, addressed the changing patterns of world fisheries and their impact on the supply of fish. Numerous topics were discussed: problems and opportunities created by the 200 mile limit; conservation of fishing resources; the growth and development of fisheries in smaller countries; developing market outlets; the U.S. market - import and export; changes in fish processing to suit the demand; new technology; improved management regimes; and use of previously unacceptable species to fill future deficits.
