Unmanned combine operation using fuzzy logic control--graphic simulation
1996
Cho, S.I. | Ki, N.H.
Fuzzy control for unmanned operation of a three-row rice combine was simulated with interactive graphics. Three fuzzy variables were used: operating status of combine, steering angle, and speed. Eleven fuzzy rules were constructed and appropriate linguistic variables were used for the fuzzy rules. Six sensors were used to get the state of the combine and the sensor inputs were quantified into 11 1evels. The fuzzy output was inferred with fuzzy inference using Sugeno's method, and it was defuzzified by the center of gravity method. Performance test using the graphic simulation showed that unmanned operation of the rice combine overlapped approximately 7.3% of more harvested area than manned operation. The result demonstrated that the unmanned rice combine is possible using a fully developed fuzzy controller.
