Formation of dipeptides containing D-alanine in wild rice plants
1992
Manabe, H.
Among 30 strains of Oryza latifolia and O. alta, 24 were type I plants possessing the ability to produce D-alanylglycine (D-Ala-Gly), D-alanyl-D-alanine (D-Ala-D-Ala) and D-alanyl-L-alanine (D-Ala-L-Ala). The other six strains were type II plants having the ability to form only D-Ala-D-Ala. In type I strains, the pattern for accumulation of D-Ala-Gly was different from that of D-Ala-D-Ala and D-Ala-L-Ala. The behaviour of D-Ala-D-Ala and D-Ala-L-Ala in type I strains was analogous to that of D-Ala-D-Ala in type II strains.
