A brief report describes a complaint filed against misleading advertising concerning overstated health benefits made in a grapefruit advertisement by the state of Florida. An investigation concluded that the advertising was misleading. It is argued that there is a growing tendency on the part of food producers to overstate biochemical facts about individual nutrients in foods and that FDA believes such unwarranted promotion has a great potential for fraud.(wz)
