Adolescents' health beliefs and acceptance of a novel preventive dental activity: Replication and extension
1982
Kegeles, S. Stephen | Lund, Adrian K.
The Health Belief Model attempts to explain health behaviors and specifies variables to be modified. Data from an adolescent population contradict both assumptions. Also results suggest that compliance with preventive dental activities is higher among children who practice the activities with some parental involvement. Generally, health beliefs and acceptance of new activities were unrelated to prior dental experiences and behavior among these children. (kbc)
