Agricultural land prices: the effect of the terms of a sale

This paper investigates the relationship between the terms of sale and land price differentials. Cash, encumbrance and mortgage categories distinguish sales according to financial terms. Three hypotheses are tested with respect to the security effect, the mortgage discount effect and the interest-rate effect.
