Extract: Objectives of this study were to 1) describe the contract grower segment of the broiler industry in Arkansas, 2) provide information on the relative energy advantage that exists between broiler producing areas of the state, 3) provide a methodology for estimating fuel consumption for contract broiler growers in the state, and 4) provide a methodology for determining optimum quantities of insulation for broiler houses in the state at different relative prices of energy and insulation.
