Trypanosoma cruzi, release of beta-glucuronidase and lysozyme from human polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) engaged in phagocytosis and lysis of epimastigotes studied in presence or absence of chagasic serum and various inhibitors, release of lysosomal enzymes during interaction of epimastigotes and PMN seems to be related to triggering event of phagocytic process and does not bear cause-and-effect relationship with parasite death
