Nutrition awareness gets boost from employers
1984
Responding to clients' request, a food service management company developed a nutrition awareness program called T.R.I.M. "The Right Image of Me". TRIM provides the caloric levels for the foods offered. Employees are given pocket-size calorie counters to help them along. An accompanying newsletter called "Talking T.R.I.M." provides information on a number of subjects such as "fast foods" and "calories and exercise". A film for clients to use to inform employees about the interrelationships between nutrition, exercise and weight control also augments the program. Nutrition awareness can provide industrial foodservice operators an edge over computers. (kbc)
