Incidence of Metopic Sutures in Adult Human Skulls of North Indian Origin

Out of fifty adult human skulls, eight skulls (16%) showed the presence of metopic sutures. Incidence of incomplete metopic sutures was 0.08% while one skull was with two incomplete sutures which are found rarely. One skull was with complete metopism. Surgeon should be aware of these anatomical conditions while performing frontal craniotomy for any reason.
