Barazandeh, M.M.
Aerial parts of Nepeta menthoides Boiss. et Bushe were collected from Samian Research Station in Ardabil province (Sabalan mountains) of Iran in June 2002. Plant material was hydrodistilled in an all-glass apparatus for 3 h to produce a light-yellow oil at the yield of 1.2% (based on dry weight). GC and GC/MS analyses of the oil revealed presence of 18 compounds, among which 1,8-cineole (57.3%), beta-pinene (8.8%) and geranyl acetate (8.1%) were the major constituents.
