1985
Aynsley-Green, A.
A literature overview of various metabolic and endocrine interrelationships and food utilization in the developing human fetus and new-born infant examines a postnatal nutritional adaptation regulater model, and presents data on blood glucose, ketone bodies, lactate, pyrurate, amino acids, insulin, and key hormonal and enzymatic levels at different stages of gestation. It is suggested that hormones and peptides could be given therapeutically to overcome disorders of the adaptation to postnatal feeding. (wz)
