Frictional Effects in Glass Fabric
1986
Ly, Nhan G.
A series of cyclic bending experiments conducted to investigate the frictional effects in bending glass fabric are described. The results indicate that for a given maximum curvature of bending, the coercive couple caused by frictional effects does not change as the bending curvature increases. On the other hand, the hysteresis, which is the coercive couple at zero curvature, increases with increasing maximum curvature of bending. The frictional effects created by interyarn movement are not as important as those caused by interfiber movement.
