Food allergies and migraine
1979
Grant, Ellen C.G.
Food allergy is thought to play an important role in provoking migraine headaches. In a study of 60 migraine patients using an elimination diet, the following foods were found to cause migraine reactions: wheat (78%); oranges (65%); eggs (45%); tea and coffee (40% each); chocolate and milk (37% each); beef (35%); corn, cane sugar and yeast (33% each). When these foods were eliminated, the number of headaches dropped, with 85% of the patients having no headaches. In addition, the 15 hypertensive patients' blood pressure levels dropped to normal.
