Fasting induces survival mechanisms in normal cells but not in tumor cells. So, fasting could have an additive effect with anticancer treatments, reducing toxicities and improving effects against tumor. A lot of animal studies confirm these effects. But any human study proves a specific interest of restrictive diets (intermittent fasting, ketogenic diet, caloric restriction).
