The purpose of the conference on clinical nutrition training for physicians was to review the historical emergence of clinical nutrition (CN) in medical practice, the status of existing CN training programs, current fellowship funding sources, and to develop a consensus about the desirable and necessary educational components for such physician fellowships. The focus of this conference was on training. Twenty speakers presented information regarding training in their respective fields of interest.(lsp)
