The 1970's - an industry retrenches
1978
Food industry changes from 1968 to 1978 are reviewed. During the 70's a spirit of mistrust had grown in the land, and the food industry was attacked from all sides for such things as environmental pollution, food safety, misleading advertising, and unfair pricing. New products marketed during this time, as well as improvements in existing items, are described. Attention is also focused on packaging advances, distribution problems, processing innovations, and vending machines' move toward the cafeteria field.
