Reduction of progeny of some stored-product coleoptera by vapours of Acorus calamus oil

The numbers of offspring of Sitophilus granarius (L.), S. oryzae (L.) and Callosobruchus chinensis (L.) emerging from food which adults were placed on during and after treatment with Acorus calamus oil vapours were considerably lower than in the respective controls. This response was correlated to increase of exposure time rather than to increase in dose. In Tribolium confusum (J. du V.), no appreciable differences between the treatments and controls were observed.
